Insulated Panels
Insulated roof panels for pitched roofs are the perfect way to ensure a windproof and watertight roof. FALK carries no fewer than three types of insulated roof panels in its range.
FALK offers a wide range of insulated roof panels. In addition to corrugated insulated panels, our product line also includes two types of trapezoidal roof panels with insulation.
Insulated panels are an easy way to save energy. And a FALK insulated roofing panel is the perfect way to separate the inside from the outside. Read more about our insulated roof panels.
An insulated roof panel is a highly efficient solution for finishing your pitched roof. This single product combines finishing, insulation, protection, and span capacity. At our own modern production lines in Ede and Veenendaal, we manufacture roof panels in various shapes and cut them to exact specifications for our customers. An insulated roof panel consists of three components:
An insulated roof panel is a prefabricated roof panel that is installed quickly and efficiently on your project. To manufacture the insulated panels, we at FALK source the raw materials from our suppliers. These are primarily steel coils and chemicals used to produce the PIR insulation. We roll the steel coils into the desired shape, then apply the PIR insulation to the desired thickness. Next, we cut the roof panel to exact specifications and package the insulated roof panels. We transport the insulated panels to your project site using our own trucks.
A pitched roof made of insulated roof panels offers several advantages. As we mentioned earlier, an insulated roof panel combines four functions in a single product: insulation, protection, finishing, and spanning. As a result, the cost per square meter of roof is much lower than that of other solutions, such as roof tiles.
FALK roof panels can be easily combined with daylight solutions. Are you looking to install solar panels or a sedum roof? A insulated roof panel also serves as the perfect support structure. With the FALK Carrier System, you can easily enjoy the benefits of both the insulated roof panel and the accessory. It’s important to have a calculation performed in advance, so you can be sure the substructure is strong enough. If you’d like to learn more about this, please contact our technical team. They’d be happy to help you figure it out.
Insulation = savings.
Proper insulation is an essential part of sustainable construction. With FALK insulated sandwich panels, you can easily provide your building with a well-insulated and airtight envelope, which reduces energy consumption. The insulated roof panels are available in various thicknesses. The thicker the insulated roof panel, the higher the insulation value. The savings you achieve over the building’s lifetime can add up significantly.
It will come as no surprise to hear that everyone has their own preferences when it comes to insulated roof panels. Here at FALK, we stock a wide range of models. As the inventor of the insulated corrugated panel, we have been using the FALK 1000 GL Roof since the foundation of our company. This panel has since been installed on thousands of roofs in the Netherlands. We also have two versions of the insulated trapezoidal sheet – the FALK 1000 TR Roof and the FALK 1100 TR3+ Roof.
When it comes to insulated roof panels, we distinguish between standard insulated roof panels and EKO elements. The standard insulated roof panels consist of two steel sheets with a PIR insulation core in between. In the EKO elements, the inner steel sheet has been replaced by aluminum foil. This eliminates the insulating effect, which is why we refer to it as an element. The aluminum foil is highly resistant to ammonia vapors. This makes an EKO roof element a more cost-effective solution for agricultural projects. However, it is susceptible to scratches, and the roof surface appears less smooth than with a standard insulated roof panel. Our insulated roof panels are also available as EKO elements. These are the FALK 1000 GL EKO and the FALK 1100 TR3+ EKO. Would you still like to use insulated panels for an agricultural barn or shed? Then consider an agri-coating, which offers good resistance to ammonia and fertilizer.
There are various types of roofs, each of which is further subdivided into several variants. Below, you can read about the most common roof shapes and whether you can insulate them with FALK roof panels. As a general rule, our insulated roof panels can be used on any type of roof with a pitch of 4 degrees or more, with the exception of flat roof panels.
Gable roof with insulated panels:
The gable roof is the most common type of roof. By making the roof steep, additional living space is created beneath the structure. The gable roof consists of two sloping roof surfaces positioned opposite each other. The ridge connects the two roof slopes. The sides are constructed at an angle, with wooden or steel purlins placed on them. The insulated roof panels can then be attached to these purlins. Special panel screws are available for this purpose. As a rule, these are fastened to the highest parts of the insulated roof panels to prevent water and debris from accumulating.

Pent roof with insulated panels:
A common type of roof is the pent roof. Unlike a gable roof, a shed roof consists of a single sloped roof surface. Here, too, the sides of the building are constructed at an angle, and wooden or steel purlins are installed on them. The roof panels with insulation can be installed on these purlins. Use special screws designed for sandwich panels. These are available in various colors.
Hip roof with insulated panels:
A hip roof is actually a gable roof, but with four sloping roof surfaces (sides) that meet at the ridge. The surfaces of a hip roof usually have the same pitch. This type of roof can also be effectively insulated with roofing panels. The main challenge here lies in connecting the surfaces of the roof.

Mansard roof with insulated panels:
A mansard roof is a gable roof where the upper part is less steep than the lower part. This creates more space under the roof structure than a standard gable roof. FALK insulated roofing panels are particularly suitable for creating a mansard roof. Similar to the hip roof, the interface between the roof surfaces is the main challenge.

Flat roof with insulated panels:
A flat roof is a roof consisting of a horizontal roof surface. At FALK, we consider a roof to be flat when the roof pitch is between 2 and 4 degrees. A minimum roof pitch of 2 degrees ensures proper drainage. The advantage of a flat roof is that accessories can be easily installed on it, for example, using FALK Carrier panels. Flat roof panels also allow you to maximize the usable space inside a building, since there are no sloped roof surfaces to contend with. Flat roofs can be constructed using insulated roof panels.

FALK insulated panels are available in almost every colour imaginable. In most cases, the exterior skin is finished with a high-quality coating manufactured by Tata Steel (Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra® or Colorcoat Prisma®); the standard finish for the interior skin is FALK Off-White. This is similar to RAL 9002. But you can also select your own colour from the colour library. Discover all our colours on this page. Here you can also request a colour sample!
In most circumstances, solar panels can be installed on FALK insulated roof panels, but this will depend on the chosen span of the panels and the substructure. Always seek professional advice in order to avoid any potential problems. Special brackets are available that can be mounted on our insulated panels. For more information, visit our page on solar panels.
FALK insulated roof panels are available with a cutback; this is a standard production option. You can choose the length of the cutback yourself, which generally varies between 25mm and 300mm.
A insulation carrier panel is actually a insulated panel that is designed to support an accessory. Accessories, such as solar panels, are often mounted on roofs. We therefore distinguish between insulated carrier panels for roofs and insulated carrier panels for façades. View our insulated carrier panels here.
